the international banking system; liquidity management; netting; payment
factories; shared service centres; software and technology; standards

organisation; and working capital management.
Module 2: Building a Risk Orientated Approach to Treasury
Tutors:
Yann Umbricht, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, UK
Bob Steiner, Managing Director, Markets International Ltd, UK
Effective management of risk is fundamental to successful business
practice in all sectors. Risk must be reduced and controlled without losing
the opportunity to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment.
On a daily basis the financial risks that businesses face go far beyond
adverse movements in interest and FX rates. In three days you will
be taken on a journey through all aspects of risk that affect treasury,
explaining the instruments and best practices of managing them.
Module 3: An Integrated Approach to Cash Flow Forecasting
Tutor: Giuseppe Matassi, Managing Partner, BrainPower Resources, Belgium
This intensive one-day course explores the dynamics of cash flow
forecasting, establishes why and for what purpose forecasts are made,
and examines the variety of approaches that can be taken depending on
purpose and profile of the company. The relationship between forecasting,
liquidity and working capital is examined in detail so that forecasting is
not considered in isolation, but at the centre of the drive to maximise
shareholder value. The objective is for you to be confident in optimising
the accuracy of your forecasts, maintaining their usefulness under differing
scenarios of change and pressures, and to maximise the benefits seen from
improved cash generation.
Module 4: Tax for Treasurers
Tutor: Jan Kooi, Independant Tax Consultant, The Netherlands
Every country has diverse legal and tax regulations that create barriers or may actually create opportunities of entry to those moving funds cross-border. This one-day course, taught by a tax expert, covers the basics of international tax including withholding tax, thin capitalisation and transfer pricing. It also considers the impact on cash management, foreign exchange and investment and funding strategies.
